Climatic conditions

Overall, winter was mild, excepting January, which was very cold. March was rainy and grey. As a result, budburst came late. The weather conditions in June were exceptional, with summery temperatures and bright sunshine. Flowering and fruit set were fast and complete. Very positive signs for a highly promising vintage.

July was also very hot and dry, producing extremely small, concentrated berries. August rains got grape ripening off to an excellent start, while limiting water stress. September was cool and dry. Maturity, free from rot, was reached slowly, with all plots harvested at their highest quality potential. Grapes were small in size and highly concentrated, with top quality tannins.

From the vine to the glass

Due to weather conditions, the whites were harvested early (August 30th) to preserve the freshness and full aromatic potential of the grapes. During harvesting, and before pressing, the grapes were left to macerate for optimal extraction of flavour propagators in the juice. The entire harvest was protected from oxygen, then pressed at low pressure to extract only the best, most aromatic juices.

Juices were fermented at 16 degrees to preserve aroma. The wine was then matured on lees with regular stirring. The maturing process gave the wine a balanced palate, with fleshiness and acidity. Wines were bottled in February.
