Climatic conditions
A warm, sunny vintage at the château. After an early vegetative phase at every stage, the harvest began slightly earlier than in previous years, when the grapes were in perfect health. The weather was very kind and allowed the grapes to ripen completely, so we were able to choose the level of ripeness of the grapes we harvested: a luxury!
Vintage presentation
This vintage gave the winemakers much creative scope
«Very full-bodied and concentrated with lashings of fresh fruit, even strawberry, rarely seen since the 1990s»
From the vine to the glass
Maturing in new barrels and one-wine barrels for a minimum of 12 months.
Gentle vinification techniques were used, by cap punching used to better control the vintage.
The different grape varieties matured fully, thanks to August and September being both relatively dry months but without excessive heat..
Tasting
Its deep, intense, brilliant garnet-red colour reveals the first signs of evolution. The nose retains a lovely freshness, despite the sunny aspect of the vintage, and develops a complex bouquet of morello cherries and zan, followed by tertiary notes, notably truffles. The palate is structured, with a fresh attack and real density in the middle, which lasts. On the finish, the tannins are present and continue to refine to carry the aromas. A fine expression of the limestone of the south coast.
